education

Graduated from University College London’s Bartlett School of Architecture with a First Class degree in 1993, receiving the Environmental Design Prize, followed by a Diploma with Distinction in 1996.

Experience

After a ten-year period working with the award-winning architect Michael Hopkins, culminating in the role of Project Director in 2003.
As Project Director I was responsible for a number of historically sensitive sites including the David Mellor Design Museum in the peak district, the Scorer’s Box at Lords Cricket Ground, and the Boathouse on the Serpentine lake in London’s Regents Park.
As part of a team I worked on larger projects including the new HQ for the Wellcome Trust on Euston Road, and the development of Nottingham Trent University

I relocated from London to Brittany in 2005.
Initially this move involved undertaking an extensive renovation project, during which I developed a practical understanding of local construction techniques and general building craft. These skills continue to inform the practice’s design process, which was established following registration with the French Ordre des Architectes.

teaching

Between 2000 and 2005, I was a technical dissertation tutor for final-year Diploma students at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. I have also lectured and served as a guest critic at several schools of architecture in London and Belfast.
